As well as developing innovative architectural solutions, SJB strives to build relationships and communities. Creating meaningful places for people to embrace and enjoy is our primary goal. They aim to contribute to the built environment in a way that is sustainable and responsible, that reflects their unique culture, and allows for experiences of delight. This challenge drives them forward. The Blue Edge project seeks to create a responsible model for urban renewal in Yarraville. SJB Architects have significant experience with projects such as Blue Edge. The Steam Packet Hotel in Williamstown underwent a similar process of infill and renewal. As the Architects for the project, SJB carefully placed these contemporary garden apartments between the heritage-listed bluestone hotel and two Victorian terrace houses to the north. This project has breathed life back into this small activity zone, and is a good example of responsible community-building. SJB is looking forward to the continuing relationship with Burbank Group in realising the Blue Edge. Burbank has also undertaken town house and apartment projects which blend beautifully with their surrounds and retain the historical integrity of the area. As both the builder and developer of Blue Edge, Burbank will be working closely with SJB Architects to ensure their vision is maintained and achieved.
